Postdoctorial positions in Mathematics at Department of Mathematical Sciences
The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen is seeking top early-career researchers for a number of attractive postdoctoral positions. The positions are one to three year positions. Starting date in 2019, ordinarily 1st September.
The salary is very competitive, depending on seniority, the salary amounts to 32.000-33.791 DKK/per month (app. EUR 4.266-4.500 per month) plus 17.1 % in pension contribution.

The teaching load is typically two quarter (half-semester) courses per year of which one usually is as a teaching assistant.
TheDepartment of Mathematical Sciences has strong research groups in many areas of mathematics, and has an active postdoc and visitors' programme; we refer to our homepage for more information.
Applicants hired via this call will be affiliated with one of the two sections in pure mathematics: Geometric Analysis and Mathematical Physics and Topology, FunctionalAnalysis and Algebra. Strong applicants in all areas covered by the topics of these sections will be considered. In particular there will be postdoc stipends in the following specific areas/centers of the Department:
• Algebra, topology, operator algebra, and non-commutative geometry as covered by the Centre for Symmetry and Deformation.
• Geometric analysis: Riemannian geometry, PDEs and curvature flows. For more information, please contact Assistant Profesor Niels Martin Møller.
• The VILLUM Center of excellence for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory (QMATH) focusing on mathematical physics and quantum information theory. The center offers the possibility to work in close collaboration with theoretical and experimental activities at the Niels Bohr Institute. For more information, please contact Professors Matthias Christandl, Bergfinnur Durhuus, or Jan Philip Solovej.
• There are also some postdoc stipends available which are not attached to any of the above mentioned centers/grants.

Procedures
After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Interview Committee.
An assessment committee will be appointed to evaluate the applications. The final selection of a successful candidate will be made by the Head of Department, based on the recommendations of the assessment committee. We expect to send invitations for interviews in December 2018 or January 2019. The interviews will typically take place in January and February of 2019, and our search is expected to be concluded around April, 2019.
