Vestas is looking for a Specialist in Mechanical Engineering with expertise in FE, weldings and structural design. Nacelle, Power & Handling; Nacelle Engineering; Nacelle Rear Structure & Service Support Technology & Service Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas. To put it short: Vestas Technology & Service Solutions develops the wind power systems of the future. Nacelle Rear Structure is a part of the Vestas Technology & Service Solutions. We have sites both in Denmark and India. The department is responsible for the design and integrity of the nacelle rear structure. The rear structure is a vital part of the Nacelle and must be design to carry all of the heavy components and support systems inside the Nacelle. We are responsible for design and analysis from the early concept study for new turbines to the final specification for production. Responsibilities: In Nacelle Rear Structure you will as specialist be accountable for both technical and leadership responsibilities. Technical responsibilities include: Mechanical engineering and design Structural analysis using FE tools, preferably Ansys Structural verification of bolt connections and weldments Review of materials and its properties Wind turbine design and 3rd party certification Test setup and data processing Leadership responsibilities include: Support strategic work and department development both technical and behavioral Supporting implementation of business initiatives Understand the business and do what serves Vestas best across the value chain Act as role model, it's natural for you to knowledge share, lead, guide and advise your colleagues Your tasks can vary from complex development of new systems and concepts to implementation of improvements of existing products. You will be working in project teams supporting on time delivery, quality standards and knowledge sharing while ensuring a pipeline of new technology. You will be supporting our system leads ensuring that we take the right decisions in our design. Qualifications: Mechanical Engineer M.Sc Minimum 5 years of experience preferably within the wind turbine industry Very experienced in FE, weldments and structural design Competencies: Technical leadership, and understanding the business and value chain. Comfortable with taking decisions and being responsible for these High degree of personal planning and able to meet deadlines.
