Would you like to become a key member in the new Service Engineering function delivering the next generation of service solutions to the Wind Turbines aftersales market? Technology & Service Solutions, Service & Plant Solutions, Service Engineering The department Service Engineering is a part of the Vestas R&D organization. We are currently expanding the organization with highly qualified employees. The department is responsible for delivering service solutions enabling the service business within Vestas to fulfill its ambitious, strategic targets. The service solutions vary from parts & repair over maintenance concepts to product improvements like component life extensions, optimizations of performance and cost-out initiatives. The department holds the design responsibility for service/aftersales solutions on the products no longer being manufactured. We are responsible for delivering innovative solutions to ensure highest possible value to Vestas customers in the service business. The team is located in different geographical locations and is expanding to meet the demand of a growing and challenging business. Responsibilities As Service Product Lead you will be technical responsible from specification to validation of the product/solution. The important focus will vary depending on the scope of the project, complexity and adoption. Your main focus will be on: Lead execution of Product feasibility studies, defining product concepts optimized towards; customer needs, technology opportunities, cost, time and risk Challenge stakeholders to strive for best in class design optimized for the full life cycle based at customer business case. Translate Customer and Value Chain expectations into design requirements and allocate to system level while ensuring optimal balance between design, cost and quality. Lead integrated product development via cross functional and cross organizational teams. Define project team, project scope and lead project break down into work packages together with the project team Maintain technical risks overview and ensure that proper mitigations are in place. Provide technical specification for the product and product verification strategy Develop and align scope with Global Service Product Management, Service Platform Managers, Project Manager, System owners and other relevant Stakeholders Align and balance requirements between expectations, technical feasibility, quality, cost and time. Tailor deliverables against scope, complexity and risk. Key responsibility is to ensure that scope, component cost, service cost, functionality (system/solution) meets defined targets. Engage in "Solution Customization" of customer/site specific WTG Optimization and specific customer required solutions (e.g. specific parts, or Tailor-made repair scopes & flexible quality/expected life-time levels etc.) Engage and support in scanning market/industry for opportunities. Present it to Vestas for validation and integration into Vestas' installed fleet. Qualifications and Work Experience A M.Sc. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering +10 years’ experience either as wind turbine specialist, or specialist within related main components or systems +10 years’ experience with a larger organization dealing with complex products Good fundamental understanding of machines and components Analytical approach and ability to drill down and communicate complex issues in easy understandable terms and actions Ability and drive to take the leadership role What we offer We offer an exciting job with excellent opportunities for professional and personal development in an inspiring environment at the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturer.
