Driving LEO Pharma’s engagement with global patient organizations & other key stakeholders

LEO Pharma is looking for an experienced Public Affairs Senior Manager in the Global Public Affairs function. In this role, you will be responsible for the relationships with external stakeholders who drive or shape the policies that determine LEO Pharma’s ability to help people achieve healthy skin and patients to get access to treatment.

We have recently introduced our 2025 strategy, which aims to accelerate our efforts in innovative therapeutics while strengthening our established portfolio and our global footprint in medical dermatology.

Objectives

Global Public Affairs oversees the political interests of LEO Pharma and promotes a political environment that ensures dermatological patients’ timely access to healthcare, by elevating the profile of medical dermatology and safeguarding essential business conditions. This includes relations with governments, patient organizations and industry.

We are looking for an experienced Public Affairs Senior Manager to manage our relations to patient organizations, including supporting LEO Pharma affiliates in their collaboration with patient organization and other key external stakeholders. In addition, the Public Affairs Senior Manager will drive and roll out public affairs tools for our affiliates globally.

The Public Affairs Senior Manager will be responsible for driving the patient organization engagement and building coalition to drive policy change for increased access to LEO Pharma products. This includes product support to product lifecycle management, clinical trial recruitment, patient involvement in key access and policy decisions.

You will support the LEO Pharma Global Public Affair activities to promote a political environment, policies and legislations that ensure dermatological patients timely access to healthcare. You will report to the Senior Director Global Public Affairs and be based at LEO Pharma’s headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark, near Copenhagen.

Responsibilities and tasks

• Creating, driving and implementing the Global Public Affairs direction for patient advocacy group’s engagement.
• Drive and leverage strong patient organization relations and facilitate the translation of global patient organization initiatives into national and regional organizations by working closely with our internal public affairs community.
• Building and nurturing strong relationship with key external stakeholders (patient organization and other key stakeholders) who influence LEO Pharma’s ability to help patients.
• Building and nurturing strong internal relationships with key internal stakeholders and leading LEO internal public affairs community including tool development
• Planning, aligning and coordinating LEO Pharma public affairs initiatives, advising senior management as well as functions regions and countries.
• Building and nurturing strong internal relationships with key stakeholders and leading LEO Pharma’s internal public affairs community, advising senior management as well as affiliates.
• Support Global Public Affairs strategy development, roll out and communication.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in international public affairs
• University degree in political science, international public health or other health related fields
• 5+ experience working within the pharmaceutical industry in global positions
• Experience working within or with patient organizations
• Ability to network and work with LEO Pharma leadership and internal stakeholders on all levels (global, regional, local)
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities, and demonstrated capacity to work effectively with all levels
• Strong external network with agencies, consultants, strategists
• Fluent level of English, 2nd language is an asset
• Diplomatic, strategic mindset, strong networker, engaging team player
• Ability to execute, manage projects, budgets, and working with external vendors
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently internationally, travel requirements approx. 35 days

Global Communication, Public Affairs & CSR and your new department

Global Communication, Public Affairs & CSR is responsible for corporate branding, communication, public affairs, and corporate social responsibility. Global Public Affairs is helping LEO Pharma achieve its mission of helping people achieve healthy skin by engaging with external stakeholders who shape its external environment. This includes relations with governments, patient organizations and industry. LEO Pharma’s Global Public Affair promote a political environment, policies and legislations that ensure dermatological patients timely access to healthcare. We work towards strengthen the public prioritization of medical dermatology dermatological diseases and thereby supporting business. In addition, we provide insights and drive initiatives that support the launches of innovative products.

Global Public Affairs is responsible for engaging directly with key stakeholders such as international and global patient organizations, European and US industry associations and the Danish government. Global Public Affairs develops and drives multi stakeholder campaigns, such as coalition building, public information and policy advice, and programs specific to LEO Pharma’s main therapy areas (psoriasis, eczema, thrombosis). Global Public Affairs is also maintaining a network of relations with other pharmaceutical companies. Internally, the global team is the hub for all public affairs activities across LEO Pharma, setting the overall public affairs direction, advising senior management as well as functions regions and countries, and planning, aligning and coordinating initiatives.
