Core Responsibilities
- Work closely with engineers, to deliver LEGO parts ready for production
- Work closely with model and elements designers, to deliver innovative LEGO parts to our consumers
- Deliver some of the most complex LEGO parts, from e.g. systems of rail or hinge to new connectors
- Create concept material, 2-D sketches and 3-D prototypes
- Keeping overview of process, manage documentation and drive own project-time-plans
Play your part in our team succeeding
The platform team is one of the 4 element design teams at LEGO, which designs the physical LEGO elements/ parts. The team is in the Element Design and System Governance (EDSG) Line organization. The platform team is focusing on the most complex LEGO parts in our portfolio. The complexity can come from new platforms/ groups of LEGO parts, integration of new production methods or complex functions. The team strives to deliver innovation to the children, and new possibilities to the projects that we support
Do you have what it takes?
- Design or Fine Art education
- 3-D software skills (Z-brush/freeform/Rhino/NX…)
- Hand sketching, physical hand modelling is a plus
- Minimum 4 years of design experience from product design and experience with leading design processes
- Strong 3-D software skills
- Good communication skills
- Understanding of Manufacturing (molding) processes
- Good analytic and system thinking skills
- Experience with collaboration across functional areas
- Understanding of aesthetics from a child’s perspective
- Thrives and contributes in a team setting
- Fluent English Level 13
