About the position:

For our Offshore Logistics department, we are looking for a dedicated Sea Transport Specialist, who wants to play a vital role in the execution of offshore wind turbine projects.
The Logistics Execution team belongs to the SGRE Sales & Projects organization and works as an internal supplier of end-to-end logistics solutions for our large-scale wind turbine projects world-wide.
The team operates all SGRE contracts of heavy haulage, port services, heavy-lift shipping as well as containers, groupage, courier etc. within Business Unit Offshore.

As a Sea Transport Specialist, you work in the core centre of the operational team.
You oversee the full execution loop of all our heavy-lift shipping activities of main wind turbine components, from factory locations until delivered to offshore projects’ pre-assembly sites.
The role is “global”, and you will have a broad interface to both external and internal stakeholders.

What are my responsibilities?

The Sea Transport Specialist is responsible for the planning and execution according to demands set by the wind turbine projects in execution. First and foremost, you are the anchor point in taking a holistic view across each of the active projects, therein ensuring that the overall shipping capacity is utilized in the most cost-effective way on a portfolio level.

Your main responsibilities and deliverables will include

• Defining overall demands for shipping capacity across markets and projects.
• Participation as technical counterpart to procurement organization during tenders and contract negotiations.
• Creating and maintaining shipping schedules according to individual projects’ demands.
• Identifying risks and opportunities within the executional plans (short/medium term sight).
• Demand management of transport and lifting equipment required for operations.
• Review and approval of cost settlements from logistics supply chain.
• Pushing for continuous improvement, relating to operational excellence, schedules, budgets, quality etc.
• Knowledge sharing within line organization and between project teams.
• Participation in regular project meetings, including on-site presence where required.
• Availability during evenings and weekends, although limited.
• Contribution to overall shipping strategy for future turbines and markets. 

You should expect approximately 20 days of travelling per year, depending on assignments.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• Strong analytical skills
• Experience with heavy-lift shipping, multimodal tansportation or similar
• Strong communication skills, including excellent English skills, both orally and in writing.
• Proactive, outgoing and structured mind-set.
• Strong planning skills with an ability to “keep the full overview”
• Experience with Project business from freight forwarding environment or similar. 

As a person, you are self-driven with a responsible and result-oriented approach to your work.
You are able to carry out your tasks in a dynamic and hectic environment where no day is the same - and where priorities have to be adjusted in the daily shift between long-term planning and short-term tasks.
