The Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Technology Centre (Centre for Oil and Gas - DTU), Technical University of Denmark (DTU), invites applicants for research assistant positions on numerical modelling of coupled THMC proccesses in fractured media as part of an EU project (http://www.sure-h2020.eu/). Centre for Oil and Gas - DTU is established by the Danish Underground Consortium and DTU.

Responsibilities and tasks

The project involves numerical simulations and field studies on sustainable and efficient productivity / injectivity enhancement methods (e.g. rdial jet drilling). Different numerical models will be utilised for testing and studying different methods and evaluating their impact on the performance of deep geothermal He/She will participate in a growing cross-disciplinary research program, involving several researchers at DTU and other Danish universities, research institutes, and industry.

Qualifications

M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering, applied mathematics or other relevant areas;
Good Knowledge of the fundamentals of flow and geomechanics in porous media;
Good skills in numerical modelling and programming;
Previous experience in using geomechanical models (e.g. Abaqus) or/and in computaional fluid dynamic is preferred.
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment as an independent researcher;
Good writing and communication skills in English;

Salary and terms of employment

The salary and appointment terms of the position is based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
