The Nanophotonic Devices Group manufactures and characterizes optoelectronic and photonic devices for applications in communication and medical imaging. Fabrication is done in DTU Nanolab where facilities for silicon, GaAs and InP devices are available. Our optical labs are in the new building of DTU Fotonik. The work have enabled a number of high profile results on nanoscale lasers, nonlinear integrated photonics and a spinout company on lasers for optical coherence tomography (OCT).

The position is funded by INCOM and is aimed at maturing frequency comb technology based on nonlinear microresonators. Silicon nitride and aluminum gallium arsenide on insulator (AlGaAsOI) resonators should be investigated for comb generation.

Responsibilities and tasks

The successful candidate will be responsible for
  • Characterization of comb generation in microresonators procured from different sources.
  • Characterization of nonlinear properties of materials
  • Modeling of nonlinear materials and comb generation
  • Packaging of devices with fiber.
  • Support of industrial partner.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent. Experience with comb generation in microresonators and experience with AlGaAsOI is mandatory.

Salary and terms of employment

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The position is for 2 years.
