Postdoc in Immunology – Mucosal Adaptive Immunity

A postdoctoral position is available in the Immunology group headed by Dr. Bengt Johansson Lindbom at the Section of Immunology and Vaccinology, at the Danish Technical University, Veterinary Institute, Fredriksberg. The research group focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating B cell mediated immune responses in mucosal tissues with a particular interest in CD4+ T helper cell function and heterogeneity (see Immunity. 2009 Sep 18;31(3):491-501 and J Immunol. 2015 Jun 1;194(11):5187-99). The successful candidate will join a team of collaborative groups with expertise in state-of-the-art animal models, proteomics, systems biology and clinical gastroenterology, assessing regional immune-modulation of mucosal inflammation. Responsibilities and tasks The postdoctoral fellow will work with relevant in vivo animal models and in vitro mouse and human cell culture assays to study the phenotype and function of B and T lymphocytes and their cross-talk with stromal and dendritic cells in the steady state and setting of mucosal inflammation. The project will involve close collaboration with members of the team with expertise in proteomics, bioinformatics and systems biology as well as clinical gastroenterologists. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent. The candidate should be highly motivated, have the ability to work independently but also enjoy contributing and working within a team. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D in the biomedical sciences including documented training in immunology, with prior experience in working with advanced animal models, immuno-phenotyping (multi-color flow cytometry), molecular biology and in vitro cell cultures.
