For our EHS department within Service Wind Power we are looking for a High Risk EHS program owner. The department is responsible for managing Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) on behalf of the Service Wind Power Organization, coordinating activities globally between Service Wind Power and four (4) Regions. This position supports our 14001 and 18001 certified Management System in managing certain high risk EHS programs within our business which may include electrical safety work practices, ergonomics, crane operation, confined space, etc. This position will drive the assigned programs to become industry leading world class EHS programs. An EHS Program entails everything from the development of the procedure, training requirements, implementation to evaluations and finally constantly driving to lower our risk exposure in those program areas. This position will in addition support the Siemens Wind power Service Head Quarter function in Brande in handling location related EHS issues as well as govern and maintain the location Emergency Response Plan. What are my responsibilities? • Provide leadership and ownership of 4 to 6 high risk EHS programs and become the subject matter expert regarding all aspects of those programs. • Maintain / develop procedures in those high risk areas so they are current with our management system guidelines and meets legislation in countries where we perform work by aligning with Regions. • Ensure we have training requirements / courses in place based upon the roles and responsibilities assigned in the procedures and that they are effective based upon those high risk programs. • Develop awareness briefings to ensure we have continuous focus on these programs. • Analyse incidents related to their high risk programs and support investigations related to those program areas. • Coach and mentor the Regions to support them in implementing their assigned high risk programs. • Assess the implementation of the EHS programs across the Regions to be sure they are implemented and being followed. • Establish / maintain metrics or scorecard relating to the high risk program areas. • Annually review our risk exposure in those high risk activities based upon the control measures in place for those high risk programs and drive initiatives to lower the risk exposure. In this position you should expect up to 30 days of travelling per year. What do I need to qualify for this job? • Bachelors, Master’s Degree or similar in safety and or environmental engineering or a related field. • Strong knowledge in at least one of the following area: Electrical safety work practices, ergonomics, crane operations or confined spaces, • Four to ten or more years of hands on EHS experience preferably in a Global company. • Experience in EHS processes such as ISO 14001 and OSH 18000 or equivalent. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to lead and influence others. • Demonstrated results leading others in the accomplishment of EHS objectives. • Ability to work independently • Fluent level of both written and verbal English required. • Professional certifications highly desired. • Additional language preferred in the prioritized order: Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, German. • Valid driver’s license for driving with the EU In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
