If so we want to talk with you about our new position as a Data and Software Engineer in our Fleet Power Performance Team. Technology & Service Solutions, Service Engineering, Plant Solutions, Vestas Performance & Diagnostics Centre Vestas is currently seeking to fill a position as data engineer in the Vestas Performance & Diagnostics Centre, Vestas Technology & Service Solutions (TSS). The department is globally responsible for undertaking advanced analytics to enable customers to increase their return while reducing the costs and risks associated with operating wind power plants. The department is responsible for data scientific applications and focuses e.g. on driving down service costs, optimising power plant performance etc. In recent years Vestas has established a powerful remote monitoring capability, collecting data from more than 30,000 turbines worldwide. This data is analysed within the Vestas Performance & Diagnostics Centre and the insights generated here are used across the business to manage maintenance and increase the reliability and availability of the wind power plants. The department works across the entire value chain and is hence heavily interlinked to turbine development, sales and service providing valuable data analytics transforming innovative technologies and concepts into new products and service offerings. The Vestas Performance & Diagnostics Centre is a global department with a staff of more than 30 dedicated data scientists having competencies in mathematics, statistics and physics and also mechanical engineering and design. The department coordinates performance related activities with colleagues around the world and is searching for an independent data engineer with strong programming skills and analytical background to expand our analytical activities within fleet performance. Responsibilities Reporting to Director Kim Emil Andersen, your main task will be to focus on the fleet power performance teams interface with data warehouses and software tools developed outside the team but also to be used internally. We would like you to: Develop algorithms and implement these in code (such as Matlab / R / Spotfire) in accordance to data and information management principles Develop, document and run fleet performance algorithms Re-analyse power performance data sets Understand, facilitate and improve the interfaces the team has with databases and software tools outside the team Review test plans and reports from Independent Experts and improve their reports where needed, with support from the Senior Specialist Develop and document the risk tool and train the users Qualifications Preferably holds a Ph.D. or Master's Degree within Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or Engineering. You are open minded and innovative, have a high level of drive and a capability to maintain a result and quality oriented profile. You work systematic and analytically and you are a team player that likes knowledge sharing. Competencies We expect that you have: An excellent mind with great problem-solving and analytical skills. Solid understanding of software and data analysis while still keeping the bigger picture of the turbine's performance Documented experience with R (or Matlab) and preferably Spotfire Good experience with Six Sigma, preferably holds a green belt.
