Converter Control department consist of a highly specialised and dedicated engineering team developing all converter control and software functionalities for all Vestas turbines. Though our core knowledge, we provide best in class converter solutions meeting system, product and grid requirements.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership, develop, and lead project/colleagues within the area of application, framework, and configuration
• Develop and maintain architecture in above mentioned areas 
• Secure smooth transition of our configuration model architecture to support modular product setup
• Secure feedback from the field, input from internal and external stakeholders, and defined requirements is translated into new features, functionalities, and improvements to both existing and new converter control software platforms.
• In short, you will acquire software development tasks as part of the Converter software application development team, participate in concept development, own and drive converter software architectural, design and development, deliver product configuration models, and secure test and verification.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor of Engineering. Preferable in one of the following or similar disciplines: Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering 
• At least 5 years relevant working experience in embedded software and product development for system includes HW and SW interaction (e.g. State machine design, supervision, data processing, monitoring, product configuration)
• A significant understanding of system and modular development
• Strong SW architectural understanding, and ability to perform new software design, maintain architecture and debugging independently 
• Great experienced in C or/and C++

Advantages, but not requirements:

• Experienced with Configuration Management Tool, i.e. Configit
• Knowledge of scripting language such as Python and/or Matlab
• Knowledge and some experience in Controls (such as in Generator/motor control design, control design of grid connected converters). 

Competencies

• Highly independent and self-initiated, combined with a systematic and structured way of working
• Highly skilled in problem solving, analysis, and software debugging, and able to abstract from details when needed
• Experience in defining functional specification, conduct system validation, and prepare technical documentation
• Good communication skills and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent project scoping and technical leadership in a multi-cultural environment

What we offer

Additional information
The position in located in Aarhus N, Denmark, and the primary work location is Hedeager 42, 8200. You can expect approximately 5-10 travel days a year.
