As Commissioning Engineer, your home base will be the Commissioning Department of FLSmidth’s Customer Service in Valby. From here you will be deployed to our sites all over the world and get involved from the very first start-up to the actual run-in of our equipment to customers in the cement and minerals industries. Detailed Description Engineering on the road – but off the beaten track Having undergone our training program, you will be responsible for one specific piece of equipment. It will be your job to make sure this piece works – regardless of time of day and whether you are in Qatar or Mongolia. As your experience grows, you can aim to become either Commissioning Manager and head the complete plant start-up – or maybe a specialist in milling or pyro-technology. You will be one of 60 travelling Commissioning Engineers, on whom the rest of the FLSmidth organisation depends, since it is your job to make sure that what we build always works as designed. This includes: inspecting, testing and starting up the equipment for the very first time optimising performance to meet the guaranteed capacities and energy consumption levels reporting to head office with operational data and project progress executing performance guarantee test before handing over to our client supervising and instructing our clients’ own operators and personnel Cement and Minerals plants are often located in remote places, this mean that you will not be a sightseeing tourist but an integrated part of large-scale engineering challenges. When we say international career - we mean it! You can look forward to spending Christmas in the most remote deserts of Kazakhstan or Easter in Nigeria – with the rest of your approximately 250 annual travel days at equally exotic locations. Job Requirements Adaptable and goal-focused team player with desire to see the real world You probably completed your mechanical, chemical or marine engineering degree within the last 24 months – and you cannot wait to make the most of it. As a true FLSmidth ambassador, you are more than willing to criss-cross the world, are able to understand local client requirements and can combine your theoretical knowledge with hands-on problem solving, when things do not go according to plan. Working outside in tough weather requires you to be in peak fitness condition. Whilst being on the road most of the year is probably the best way of accelerating your career within FLSmidth, be aware that it is not the best foundation for starting a family. Naturally, you are proficient in English and well-founded on the Microsoft Office platform.
