Microsoft Western Europe is a multi-country Area. Western Europe HQ Finance team has the responsibility to partner with sales and marketing teams with the incremental complexity of supporting 12 different countries with 14 legal entities. Microsoft Finance is a truly global finance team and you will be part of the WW community of Engineering Group Controllers to make each other great and build on each other.

 
The Cloud and Enterprise Group (C&E) Finance manager is the Finance partner to the EG Finance Leads at Corp, the Area C&E Lead, and other product-aligned business leaders. The successful candidate will develop deep subject matter expertise on Application Platform products and Data and AI products including Azure App Plat, ADS, SQL, and other CnE products to deliver actionable insights to business partners as well as the Segment and New Business Finance managers in Area HQ and Local Subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

Partnership:

·        Drive cloud growth in the Geo through deep Cloud analytics forward and backwards

·        Understand competitive market insights, provide thought leadership to challenge BG leads & STU around new business opportunities / growth road map landscape.

·        Provide insights to the New Business (and Segment) Finance managers in a way that can be easily actioned. Provide insights to subsidiaries in a digestible manner which can be easily leveraged

·        Accountable for finance content within EG ROB, Planning & Execution incl. budget, forecast; owns ACR numbers and provide billed to consumed ratio to segments as well as overages reporting

·        Lead a strong community of Large Sub CSA Finance managers in partnership with the ASG OPG  Area Finance manager to focus on the key insights and projects to accelerate the business and increase productivity and focus of sellers and partners.

·        Lead the Area forecast, budget and Outlook processes for Area planning with accurate forecasts and high quality budgets

·        Build a partnership with Corp BG Finance teams providing insights from the Area and advocating for the Area business

·        Drive analytics and deeper understanding for App Plat and for Data & AI workloads and differentiating insights for more advanced workloads especially on AI.

·        Own predictive analytics for C+E, Billed and ACR, verify ML outcomes in partnership with BG and New Business Finance manager on Azure consumed to form an opinion what to build into CFO Forecast and FOM scenarios

·        Provide business insights to accelerate growth of Azure consumed revenue focusing on premium services and Azure everywhere – Opportunity/growth road map generation

·        Balance growth through our existing consuming customers and Azure Customer Adds.

·        Product coverage for EMS driving upsell and attach to O365, Data Platform (SQL), Azure data services

·        Contribution to partner motion acceleration to drive CSP growth

·        Develop understanding of workload margins to influence ROI decision making

·        Partner with the investment controller to drive shared understanding on return from investments (Local DC, HIPO etc.)

Prioritization: 

·     Accountable for finance content related to EG ROB, Planning & Execution incl. budget, forecast, consumption and ongoing insights in efficient manner.

 

Key indicators of success

·     Insightful analysis provided to business, subsidiaries and Area segment Finance managers based on analytical framework

·     Forward thinking centered customer lifetime value and multi-year investment perspective into actionable insights for sales teams

·     Forecast accuracy, high quality budgets.

·     Feedback from business partners and CFO and CSA community.

Qualifications

7-10 years of experience in finance positions

Strong analytical skills and business acumen

Industry experience preferred, but not limited to technology (Telco, Netflix, & Gartner etc.)

Fluent in English
