Would you like to play a key role in securing the LEGO Group a Big Data leadership position in a newly established team? And are you looking for an opportunity to create state-of-the-art solutions, in a large, renowned and truly global organisation? Launch our Big Data Journey As Application Engineer, you take on a key role in a high-priority Big Data initiative, where you shape the Big Data solutions. The vast majority of your time, you participate in projects related to blueprint, design, implementation and test phases to ensure the ongoing development within present and future projects. Our Big Data journey will lead to "trial-and-error" situations where solutions are re-built as either components an processes become more mature and. As an effect, you will need to work closely with our big data architect to secure stakeholder buy in and cross-organisational alignment continuously, and you: Ensure that the solutions are executed and aligned with the current and future strategic development goals without jeopardizing the platform architecture. Collaborate with functional teams within IT and business - ensuring the continuous delivery pipeline. Create and maintain technical documentation. Create Big Data applications on modern technologies you help to decide on. Work with large-scale, complex data sets and provide advice and analysis of user/operational issues. Conduct QA to secure that our solutions meet technical best practice and needs by looking at developed objects, functionality and the technical documentation. Complete change requests by conducting programming alterations and coordinating vendor or internal upgrades. Impact our performance You join a newly established team, where you will have 5 colleagues by the end of the year. Together you will be an extremely important part of the IT-organisation in the LEGO Group. Technical experience with Big Data and a commercial mind-set In this position, you will be challenged on your ability to build the right Big Data solutions, while balancing changing business requirements with the necessity for progress. To succeed, you: Hold a Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar with relevant experience working with Big Data or Business Intelligence projects. You have a desire to understand the customer and deliver targeted solutions. Have worked as an Application Engineer and function easily in small, virtual teams. You are self-motivated, want to improve the LEGO Big Data software development practice and have the ability to deliver. Have an advantage if you have some knowledge with Hadoop and/or other related databases and tools like Hive, Pig and Hadoop Streaming, Map Reduce, R, Java, NoSQL databases, AngularJS, Python, Scala, REST, ETL or other related tools. Are a team player, who has the ability to adapt, are proactive in your approach but still know how to stick to deadlines and deliver high quality results. Speak and write English effortlessly.
