Vattenfall is now looking for the right person to fill the position as
WTG Roadmap Engineer.
Vattenfall is aiming to build the first subsidy free wind farm in the near future. Scrutinizing the wind turbine technology which is able to realize this objective, will be a key success factor. Where possible suppliers will be challenged to push for new solutions that further drive down cost. In this position you will be responsible to create an overview of the available wind turbine technology on the market, now and in the near future, and select those technologies which can drive the Levelized Energy Costs (LEC) down. By taking ownership of the technical employer requirements you will drive the technology development of our main suppliers and challenge their future designs.
Main responsibilities & Work Tasks as WTG Roadmap Engineer
Responsibilities:
• Determine the long term WTG technology roadmap for onshore wind
• Translate the technology roadmap into generic (non-project specific) Employers Requirements
• Provide insight in the expected performance of future WTG models and related cost models.
• Ensure the reliability and technical risks of the different WTG models is properly taken into account in our business case models.
Work Tasks:
(Specific tasks for this position will include but are not limited to those listed below)
• Track (on component level) innovations in the market which can reduce the LEC
• Initiate, organize and lead Technical Due Diligences with our main suppliers
• Provide insight in the impact on non-compliance to the Employer´s Requirements
• Get feedback from Project Delivery and O&M delivery on technology performance
• Optimize the LEC with the aim to get subsidy free onshore wind
Your qualifications as WTG Roadmap Engineer
Our successful candidate has a relevant University degree, with a minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience in the field of Engineering. You have a very good command of English, command of Danish, German or Dutch is a plus. Proven track record in WTG Technology is a must.
Your personal characteristics and competences:
• Excellent analytical skills
• Good inter-personal skills and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to translate technology choices into costs
• Experience with setting up technical employer requirements
• Experienced in performing technical design reviews
• Experience in performing risk assessments
• You enjoy working on international, multidisciplinary projects and are willing to travel.
