Build your career at Nets as Technology Strategy Research Analyst

As a Technology Strategy Research Analyst, you will focus on capturing the technology trends in the market, and gather market technology intelligence on technology products and services, customers and competitors, to identify strategic technology risks and opportunities for Nets. In addition, you will benchmark our Technology capability against the industry and suggest areas of improvements for us to remain at the forefront of FinTech, influencing decision-making at the highest executive level in the company. Together with Head of IT Strategy, you will also monitor the ongoing performance of our Technology strategy transformation and suggest improvements.

You will be a part of a new Transformation team in Technology, which is responsible for leading the enterprise-wide transformation agenda for Nets. As this is a new role, you will also have the opportunity to shape the role’s style, direction and focus.

In addition to Technology Strategy, the Transformation team owns and drives the Mergers & Acquisition activity, Senior Executive reporting and Portfolio Management. Currently we are a small team of 7, with an approved plan to invest and grow over the next 6-12 months.

Your key responsibilities in this role will be:

• Capture and monitor the strategic technology trends in the market and technology industry, synthesize findings and together with Head of IT Strategy suggest improvements to the strategic direction.
• Measure and benchmark Nets technology against similar functions in relevant industries, and together with Head of IT strategy suggest maturity improvements.
• Support the Head of IT Strategy with operational strategy execution activities like monitoring the performance of the strategic tracks through check-ins and make sure change/improvements to the strategy is deployed well by key stakeholders.
• Create presentations for executive reporting and management decision-making

Your professional qualifications and background should include:

• At least 2 years’ professional experience in Strategy, Technology or Financial services environments (consulting experience is a bonus)
• Proven experience in the following capabilities:
  • Market and competitive analysis
  • Data Modelling
  • Financial Analysis
  • Statistics
• Advanced proficiency with desktop applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Understanding of IT strategy concepts e.g. Transformative power of technology, IT Architecture Planning and Strategy, Future of IT, Agile Transformation, Bi-modal
• Strong quantitative acumen (e.g. ability to think analytically and conceptually and work with scenarios)
• Ability to navigate a high volume of information/content and synthesise into clear, structured analysis and output.   

 

We would also value:

• Preferable a Master’s degree in business and computer science or similar (Cand. Merc. Dat, Cand. IT or IT engineer)
• Global awareness through international study or internships
• Keen interest in the latest innovations and business thought leadership (e.g. advanced analytics, social, mobile, cloud, lean IT, internet of things, new digital business models, IT organizations, inspiring innovation culture)
• Candidates that seek a busy working environment, and is energised by a combination of short-term milestones and long-term objectives.
• Skilled in directing your written and verbal communication to the receiver regardless if it is executives or SMEs
