Be our go-to-person You will be part of an international team of 15+ 3D artists, whose main tasks are modelling, texturing and creation of elements for building instructions, packaging and various digital media. Here, you will assist artists and suggest improvements within our existing workflows and workload. You will very much be involved in novelty projects, so your scope will be quite large as will be your network, and you will play an instrumental role in giving direction within animation and visual effects. Moreover, you will be: - Migrating our current workflow to a new pipeline adopting a new format - Solving technical issues that will come with a new process - Providing support to non-technical colleagues when they experience system problems for the industry leading 3D software used in house. - Providing technical solutions for 3D tasks that would otherwise be repetitive and time consuming - Delivering innovation and assist in managing digital asset libraries from a technical standpoint You will step into the Virtual Element Design team that work closely together as part of a matrix organisation. This means that you may experience that all 15 of us are working on the same project for a day in order to meet a deadline. Our main responsibility is to turn physical bricks and entire models into 3D to be used in graphic material such as packaging, building instructions, digital games, apps, movies etc. We are making the foundations for children’s play experiences that are between physical and digital play. Innovative and collaborative 3D Professional who can take the lead In this position, you will be challenged on your ability to switch between tasks and prioritise appropriately. To facilitate this, you: - Have 5+ years of experience in a 3D related production environment, e.g. from the video game or film making industry - Have an education - or other credentials - within Software Engineering, Computer Science or programming - Must have experience with Python and ideally Mel and/or C++ as well as previous experience or familiarity with MAYA or other 3D graphics software - Are solution oriented while being a great communicator who takes time to fully understand problems - Have a systematic mentality when approaching a problem, but also understand when a quick solution is needed Join the global LEGO Family Product Development Operations consists of 5 departments, Development Support, Midtown Service Functions, Virtual Element Design, Novelty Master Data Coordination and Master Data & Process Development and is an area of highly specialized and dedicated employees who engage in close cooperation with stakeholders across the company to ensure that all models created by the designers can be manufactured and virtually used across the globe. Main focus is master data for the physical production and for virtual models and elements as well as procurement of physical materials for the development process.
