Do you have in-depth knowledge of welded structures, and would you like to define best practice for design of Vestas' Nacelle Rear Structures? Then you may the right candidate for a newly established position as Welded Structure Senior Specialist. Technology & Service Solutions, Engineering Solutions, Power Conversion Systems, Auxiliary systems. You will become part of the department Auxiliary Systems which is part of Vestas´ Technology & Service Solutions organization. Auxiliary Systems consists of 3 sub departments with highly skilled employees located in Denmark and India. You will work closely together with the department which is Vestas' competence center for design of the nacelle rear end structures. Within this field we are responsible for the Rear end on an overall basis down to every single detail and component. It is our responsibility to design and verify the structure. Responsibilities: The position as Welded Structure Senior Specialist is a new position which was established as part of a recent re-organisation. Thus, you will get a unique chance to impact how best practices are defined across Vestas. As a Welded Structure Senior Specialist you will become a member of a global team of Specialists and Engineers using modern design tools to develop the Nacelle Rear Structures for our wind turbines. You will work together with highly skilled project team members and support each other with excellent technical knowhow. You will develop and embed in-depth knowledge and methodology for this specific field. You will: Work with methods, guidelines and best practices for structural engineering primarily on welded and bolted structures. Work with methods, guidelines and best practices for design and analysis of structural details like welded joint and bolted joint. Work with ensuring that the methods, guidelines and best practices are applied during design and analysis of Nacelle Rear Structures on system level as well as on component level, meaning from overall specification, early concepts to final part. Work with structural analysis. Both advanced numerical methods and analytical methods. Work globally together with internal and external stakeholders e.g. purchase, suppliers, production, installation, transportation, etc. to ensure integrated product development. Cooperate with specialists and Engineers from other departments to shape and optimize the turbine architecture. Work closely together with the teams and in corporation create the best possible design. Qualifications: The ideal candidate has the below background: Masters´ Degree in Mechanical Engineering structural design. At least 10 years of experience in design of welded structures. At least 10 years of experience in finite element analysis of welded structures. Experienced in ANSYS. Preferably experience from the wind industry. Competencies: To become successful in the role as Welded Structure Senior Specialist you must have the below competencies: Talent and flair for designing and analyzing complex structures primarily in steel. This goes from early concepts to final design on overall system level as well as on component and detailed level. Experience with FE tools as well as analytical methods. In-depth knowledge about welded structural design. In-depth knowledge about welded and bolted connection joints. Knowledge about integrated product development. Knowledge about engineering processes like stage gate methods and review processes. Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques.
