Would you like to develop, design, fabricate and install the offshore substation for our offshore wind projects? Join us and become Structural Engineering Manager in our team in Substations. We are responsible for managing engineering activities for our offshore substations throughout development, execution and installation until handover to operation and maintenance. We are looking for candidates who are eager to make a difference and contribute to future wind projects. The team is part of Wind Power, which has 1600 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or in Skærbæk near Fredericia in Jutland. You should, however, expect some travelling in Denmark and Northern Europe in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility As Structural Engineering Manager, you refer to the relevant project manager and are responsible to the Electrical Engineering Manager of our offshore substation in relation to all matters pertaining to structural design, layout, fire and safety, mechanical equipment and interfaces. Additionally, you must ensure that all input and constraints from internal stakeholders are available in due time, from feasibility and concept studies to detailed design and follow-up. You will be responsible for starting up the engineering part of the project, which involves managing the engineering contract with an external design consultant, following up on design time schedule and budget and ensuring quality. In addition, you will be responsible for informing project management of all significant technical issues, particularly risks, developing contingency plans and for managing changes in the design and fabrication phases. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: •establish requirements for geotechnical and metocean reports •prepare the design basis for engineering contractors within the structural, fire and safety, mechanical and HVAC scope •facilitate and manage cooperation with third-party certifying agency to obtain statements of compliance •prepare technical requirements for fabrication and installation contract •close down the sub-project and prepare technical documentation of design, safety philosophy, inspection plan, decommissioning and abandonment plan as well as operation and maintenance manual. Your profile You preferably hold a master’s degree in structural or offshore engineering and have sound understanding of offshore substations or oil and gas platforms. Moreover, you have extensive experience in managing design consultants within the offshore wind or oil and gas industry.
