Would you like to be a key part of the structural design of jacket foundations for our future offshore wind farms? Join us and become Structural Engineer in our Structural Design department. Together with colleagues from the Primary Structures team, you will design jackets for offshore wind turbines from the conceptual phase to detailed design. Apart from designing offshore foundations for wind farms, you will have the opportunity to participate in technology development work, such as development of calculation methods and calculation tools. The department is part of Wind Power which has 1,600 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility You will be part of a team which designs primary foundation structures and substructures for offshore wind farms. The team is constantly improving on methods and tools and on best practice in relation to the design of primary structures. Your main area of work will be to design the foundation structure, including its subcomponents, in compliance with state-of-the-art knowledge as well as norms and standards, using both in-house calculation tools and commercial software. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: •design, calculate and document structural components •contribute to the development of best practice, calculation methods and calculation tools •cooperate with CAD technicians and help them create and develop drawings •implement lessons learned and new solutions. Your profile You have a relevant engineering degree, such as in civil or mechanical engineering, preferably with some years of experience with offshore structures, e.g. jackets or monopiles. You have a good understanding of optimised design of steel structures, in particular fabrication-friendly design. Furthermore, you have detailed knowledge of more than one of the following areas: dynamics, hydrodynamics, fatigue, SCF calculations, pile/soil interaction, structural calcuations as well as loads and safety. As we operate in an international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently, and preferably also Danish. In addition, good communication skills are important.
