For our Towers Structural Team we are looking for a Structural design engineer with a background in structural analysis with particular focus on steel, steel constructions and the EN design standards. We are a team of specialists in Siemens Wind Powers Technology Department with the responsibility for the design of state of the art wind turbine towers. The tasks are many, diverse and they range from designing new towers based on known and new concepts including full documentation. We support development projects in our Technology R&D department, and also run our own Technology projects where tests, concepts development, investigations, dialog and negotiations with certifiers and validation is part of the daily. Our team has a big network in the rest of the organization, which makes our work interesting and versatile. What are my responsibilities? Develop new towers for the on- and offshore market in Technology R&D in close corporation with our Tower module PM’s, our Tower load team and our Tower internals design team. Perform calculations and documentation for securing approval by third parties (DNV-GL, TÜV etc.). Handle production and site issues (KRIMA) and questions from our sub suppliers, tower manufactures and in some cases site. Use state of the art calculation methods, own developed software and FE software, Ansys Workbench. Perform quality reviews of design, documentation and drawings of the towers Responsible for maintaining our Technical tower catalogue. Support as expert and back office knowledge center to our market unit engineers doing the sales specific tower designs and site support. There will be some minor travel activities nationally and internationally What do I need to qualify for this job? Engineer with a background in structural analysis with particular focus on steel, steel constructions and design standards. Experience from similar areas or companies is a must. You possess knowledge of structural design, both static and dynamic. You know the most common design standards, EN1993, EN1090, guidelines from DNV, GL etc. You have minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar position doing structural design. You are experienced in working with FE, Ansys Workbench. You are outgoing, positive and service minded as person. You are proactive, naturally taking the lead in your own work, curious and it is natural for you to acquaint yourself with new methods, standards and studies. You possess excellent English skills In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated. What else do I need to know?
