- Research Scientist - Denmark - Gentofte The job Novo Nordisk Foundation has in a number of years funded one of Steno Diabetes Centers development programs (STAR). The applicant will be part of this program. The aim of the STAR program is through learning and communication to diffuse knowledge hence some travel must be expected. The education programs target low and middle income counties and comprises development and execution of 10 yearly programs targeting developing countries in collaboration with other researchers and clinicians at Steno Diabetes Center. In Translational Pathophysiology Department we translate knowledge of pathophysiology into effective diabetes prevention, diagnostic and treatment strategies. The specific goals of the department are to identify genetic and metabolic markers, which can predict development of diabetes and its progression. Furthermore, we aim to develop novel diagnostic tools for different stages of diabetic complications. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic person with statistical background to work on modelling of clinical and genetic markers to predict risk of developing diabetes and progression to diabetic complications. The applicant should demonstrate strong abilities to work independently while capable of liaising on a regular basis with researchers in other disciplines, accurately judge priorities and should pay attention to the details. Qualifications The applicant should have education background and preferably work experience in statistics or biostatistics (epidemiology, medical statistics, genetic statistics), experience in regression modelling, experience in using one or more statistical languages, such as R and/or SAS or equivalent and preferably experience in working with large datasets. You must have strong methodology background, be a good communicator and have an interest in teaching. Knowledge of time-to-event outcomes and survival models is advantageous. On the personal level, you are flexible, and you thrive in a dynamic environment. You enjoy working independently and are good at troubleshooting. We expect you to have strong understanding of data quality assurance and reproducible research. We currently have a full time position open (37 h pr. week) for 9 months starting August 1st.
