- Fellowships - Denmark - Måløv A two year Postdoc position is available in the department of Histology & Imaging. In this job you will help us expand our understanding of GLP-1s role in appetite regulation and you will experience how your work can improve the lives of people with obesity. The Global Research Unit at Novo Nordisk specialises in the discovery of biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of diabetes and obesity. Consisting of approximately 1500 scientists, postdocs, and technicians, the Global Research Unit conducts world-class research from sites based in the Greater Copenhagen area, Beijing, and Seattle. Our ambition is to discover and develop new innovative biopharmaceuticals for the benefit of patients. About the department The department of Histology & Imaging is part of Novo Nordisk’s Global Research committed to the development of new pharmaceutical peptides and proteins to improve the quality of life and treatment for people with diabetes. Situated in Måløv, Denmark, the department’s 8 researchers, 10 technicians and PhD students employ state-of-the-art histology and imaging technologies to support both early and late stage projects with detection and quantitation of drug and drug receptors as well as efficacy and safety markers. In brief we visualize the distribution of peptides and proteins using a wide range of 3D and 2D imaging platforms including Single Plane Illumination Microscopy (SPIM), Optical Projection Tomography (OPT) Confocal microscopy, uCT and conventional fluorescence microscopy. The job You will be responsible for driving a two-year project looking at GLP-1 function in the brain. The project aims to improve our understanding of CNS access and appetite regulation, combining in vivo pharmacology with different imaging techniques. You will be working in close collaboration with research scientists and project managers. Developing and maintaining strong networks within different functions and areas of expertise will be an important part of your work with good opportunities for personal and professional development. Qualifications You hold a PhD in Life Sciences and have a strong experimental background within obesity, appetite regulation or metabolic diseases and your career has also provided you with +2 years of international experience. You have a proven publication record and a good international network, preferably with experience from working cross-culturally or in global teams. You are highly motivated to work in a results-oriented drug discovery environment. You are innovative and have good interpersonal skills with a high sense of individual responsibility.
