We offer
This position is integral to the creation of software systems and technical products/solutions, bridging R&D, Product Management and Customers. Together with R&D Manager and other Project team engineers, the Software Test Engineer produce technical testing procedures, resolve product issues, perform bench & field testing of solutions and create technical documentation content. You will be joining a team of 6 enthusiastic and skilled Software Test Engineers responsible for Software & Systems testing to ensure the quality and stability of our Machine Control solutions. You will be part of a scrum team, that create new features for our solutions, working together with Product Specialist, Software Engineers, UI/UX specialist and other software testers. This entails writing test procedures, organizing and prioritizing daily testing and engaging actively in the actual testing in-office as well as construction machinery testing on Test sites.
Key responsibilities
As our Software Test Engineer your task will include the following:
Perform bench and field testing of products/solutions in-office and on various Test sites
Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of testing procedures for Machine Control projects
Collaborate with other project team members to ensure a common and effective approach to documentation structure and content, issue logging, and the development and capture of internal processes
Produce technical testing plans and regimes in a thorough and structured way
Work collaboratively with engineers to resolve product issues and maintain a high level of technical proficiency
Collaborate on maintaining and developing the internal documentation for our solutions.
Work collaboratively with the R&D Manager, Software Engineers and Software Test Engineers to deploy releases following testing procedures and internal feedback loops in conjunction with the Product Manager’s approval
Work closely together with our R&D departments in Sweden, Switzerland and Australia
Take responsibility for resolving complex technical issues
Provide input into technical decision making
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes within R&D and on scrum teams
Interface with other groups / departments as required to deliver the required objectives
Utilize relationships developed with customers and other contacts to advise sales team of potential issues affecting customers as well as other opportunities for Leica
Participate in cross training and knowledge transfer initiatives across R&D teams where appropriate
Your profile
We expect you to have a relevant tertiary qualification (BSc degree) in computer science, IT, Robotics or related field or equivalent commercial experience. We expect you have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a testing role. ISTBQ Foundation is an advantage.
Aside from this, the following qualities are pivotal:
Passionate about Software Testing
Experience working as tester as part of a scrum team
Experience in writing test cases and documenting tests
Experience in testing automation
Field test experience, particular setting up field test environments
Knowledge of and experience in construction industry, preferable ability to comfortably operate construction machines, is a plus
Strong communication skills (written/verbal) including the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical audiences
Strong documentation skills and prior experience in preparation of technical documentation content
Commitment to continuous improvement
High level of personal drive and self-motivation
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to rapidly grasp technical solutions, concepts and products
Desire to expand own knowledge and skill set as well as sharing knowledge with other team members
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
English fluent verbally and in writing. Other languages are an advantage
