You will join our Ramboll Offshore Wind department
As our new Software developer you will be part of a department where we during the last 30 years have developed a software package ROSAP tailor-made for designing offshore foundations. Thanks to ROSAP Ramboll has today a market share of approximately 65% of offshore wind market worldwide. However, to keep the leading position, we must embrace recent digital solutions and technologies and continuously modernize ROSAP. We need the right competence and mindset for this job. We are 130 people in the offshore wind departments, where you will work closely together with our software developers and engineers. We have a well-established low hierarchy development team that is a joint collaboration between Ramboll’s departments working within the Offshore Wind business and the Oil and Gas business. You will be part of an international environment as Ramboll Offshore Wind is also operating from offices in Aarhus, Copenhagen, Hamburg and London and you will collaborate with the many ROSAP and software users in Ramboll Energy.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- building front-end, back-end or full stack services for a new and innovative cloud architecture to the benefit of Ramboll’s services primarily circulated around the ROSAP software package, where you will build, design and implement scalable cloud-based web applications for PaaS, IaaS or SaaS.
- Develop a Google Cloud Platform
- Develop optimized and robust computer code
- Work with software development in a virtual and international team

- Relevant Master’s degree or higher education within software development or computer science
- General software programming experience in Java, C/C++, Python, Go, database design and SQL, and/or knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming
- Experience with distributed computing
- Familiarity with open source cloud and application platforms, Google App Engine development experience, Kubernetes, Kafka, Hadoop/Spark, Sql, Linux
- Good understanding of private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of virtualization and global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing and networking, massive data storage
Besides from this knowledge of some of the following areas would be relevant
- Experience with Git, GitHub or GitLab
- Experience with both Agile and CI/CD development tools
- Experience with Rest API’s, Json and SqLite
- Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills
- Knowledge about unit testing, build automation and continuous integration
- Large systems software design and development experience, with experience in Unix/Linux
- Experience with data analyses
Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: Great English skills and good presentation and communication skills to teach and update design engineers and clients on new methods and models
