We are looking for a technologist with a strong interest in foreign exchange (FX) and the world of FinTech. You have a flair for innovation and keep up to date with the latest technologies and have some software development experience. You can turn ideas into simple prototypes and later transform the successful solutions to stable products. You have experience designing APIs using modern technology. 

This is an opportunity for you to help shape the landscape for foreign exchange, using modern technologies, that appeal to a wide range of client segments with a need for currency conversion or automated risk management. You will have the freedom to use the tools you find best suited to implement simple prototypes solving client needs. As part of the role you will also help build out and maintain existing solutions written in Java. The role is very diverse, and you will be discussing ideas with both non-technical as well as technical people. You’ll also get a chance to work with FinTech.

The offer 

You’ll join e-FX Development. The e-FX Development team that is responsible for the core technologies of the FX trading business including connectivity to external counterparties and venues, algorithmic solutions for low latency trading, hedging and order management. In this role, we are looking for a person to help build out our next generation connectivity and automated client risk management solutions working closely with the business and partnering with FinTechs to ensure we offer relevant solutions for both professional and non-professional clients. 

What you’ll be doing:  

• Work closely with the business, offering expertise on technical solutions to meet client needs
• Implement simple prototypes using the technologies and tools enabling you to rapidly develop an experimental solution
• Migrate successful prototypes to stable products using tried and tested technologies
• Further develop existing offerings with both new experimental and stable features
• Working closely with FX development team members responsible for core FX trading components as well as external FinTech companies

Your profile and background:  

• Outgoing and social person who is not afraid of sharing ideas and speaking up
• You are a keen learner with an innovative mindset and a can-do attitude, ready to take on new challenges daily
• Great multitasker, you can keep track of multiple tasks and easily switch between them
• A degree in Computer Science, Business and Information Systems or similar
• Strong interest in FinTech and foreign exchange 
• Moderate experience with Java or C#
• Curious and collaborative, comfortable working independently, as well as in a team with a strong sense of ownership and commitment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Familiarity with one or more of the below technologies is a plus:

• REST, WebSocket and/or HTML5
• Python, GO, Scala, Groovy or other programming languages
• Spring Framework
• SQL and/or MongoDB
• FX Trading Systems
•  FIX Protocol

Desired skills – not a must:

• Finance knowledge, especially FX products 
• Experience building electronic trading systems
