Copenhagen Local/International Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering Ref.: MO-051273 The Halfdan field is operated by Maersk Oil (31%) on behalf of its partners Shell 37%, Chevron 12% and Nordsøfonden 20%. With production of around 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, Halfdan is the largest oil producing asset in the Danish sector of the North Sea. The field comprises two chalk reservoirs. The lower reservoir contains primarily oil, and is developed by a water flood line drive pattern with more than 60 ultra-long horizontal wells (typical horizontal section 16,000 feet, placed at a 600 feet spacing). The upper reservoir contains primarily gas, and is developed by 15 single lateral and dual lateral ultra-long horizontal gas production wells. The Halfdan subsurface organization comprises around 18 experts of multiple nationalities. There are two teams; an operational team responsible for reservoir management, and a field development team delivering reservoir models and field development plans. These two teams work closely together and interact frequently with the other functions within the asset organization. We Offer • A Senior or Lead Reservoir Engineering role, depending on your level of experience. The position, within the operational reservoir management team, has a strong focus on dynamic reservoir modelling and reservoir engineering analysis • A highly technical/analytical role with the opportunity to make a tangible difference to the operation of the reservoirs and the execution of intervention activities • A dynamic and highly engaged working environment • A position in our Copenhagen, Oslo Plads office. There will be limited travel. • Opportunities for the right candidate, depending on your ambitions and capabilities, to grow into a leadership position: for instance in one of the two Halfdan subsurface teams, or in another part of the organisation Key Responsibilities • You will be responsible for supporting the Asset and individual “well owners” with dynamic reservoir modelling and reservoir engineering analysis • Interpret producing behaviour • Contribute to the definition, design, and interpretation of reservoir surveillance campaigns with PLT, DTS/DAS, and tracers • Integrate 4D seismic data in collaboration with geophysicists within the team • Estimate gains and deferments of well interventions • Define clear production guidelines (producing GOR, BHP, etc) and injection guidelines to optimise recovery • Support planning and design of reservoir conformance treatments • Provide pressure prediction, for example for planning of work overs • Provide feedback and support the field development team in updating/history matching of reservoir models • Technical presentations during Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meetings with partners • Coaching and mentoring of less experienced staff Who we are looking for The preferred candidate should: • Have a passion for integration of data, data analysis, and recovery process optimization • Have strong analytical capabilities – ability to analyze and integrate data and capture complex processes in simplified conceptual models • Have a good understanding of fundamental reservoir engineering (e.g. displacement mechanisms, interplay between viscous- gravitational and capillary forces, multiphase flow in porous media, understand the effects of heterogeneity on different scales, etc) • Have a practical mindset – working towards the ultimate company goals of adding recovery, reducing cost and managing risk • Be a good integrator and team player – open mindset towards different disciplines, proactive sharing of data/knowledge as well as proactively seeking feedback and information. Engage in constructive discussion to align technical viewpoints • Have the required computer skills – Proficiency in Reservoir Simulation, other reservoir engineering packages, and data manipulation programs • Proven track record with 8+ years of
