Using your proven leadership skills and design talent, you lead your design teams to create world-class construction toys that will inspire the builders, thinkers, storytellers and innovators of tomorrow. Leading the design agenda for our ongoing licensing partnerships As Senior Director, you will lead the design agenda for a range of licensed properties by directing 3-5 dedicated design teams and their design managers. Each design team oversees a product line, creating new and exciting product offerings based on a range of Inbound Intellectual Properties (IPs). You and your teams will both maintain and innovate our product lines from established partnerships, i.e. LEGO STAR WARS, LEGO DC SUPER HEROES, LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEREOES, etc., while also scouting for new upcoming license opportunities. You will set the strategic direction for this segment of our business to ensure that we create and facilitate great play experiences for children ages 5 years and older. You will: Collaborate closely with your marketing and project management counterparts, as you will be jointly responsible for driving the business and setting the direction for your dedicated teams Establish a solid understanding of the ingredients and criteria we look for when selecting Intellectual Properties in order to make a meaningful and engaging LEGO Play experience Collaborate with our In-Bound Licensing team to nurture and grow existing partner relations and scout, identify and recommend new IPs with high product potential, consumer appeal and relevance Take on people management responsibilities, allocating resources, building capabilities and developing core teams Inventing the future of play In this new position, you join us in rolling out a new, more scalable, organisation that can benefit from our collective creativity and capabilities. We want to work even more consumer focused and give more leadership capacity, and to do so, we are introducing play experience segments that focus on specific play needs - in this case, intellectual properties and play themes. Here, you become part of a new cross-functional segment leadership team together with Marketing and Project Directors. You will be sure to develop personally and professionally, as you share your ideas and make an impact on a growing business area. Leading through leaders As a visionary design leader, you enable alignment on design, strategy, and processes across the design organisation, while simultaneously being able to zoom in on operational issues. At the same time, you need the curiosity to discover new valuable partnerships and set a design agenda. Your qualifications: You hold an MA in Design or similar - any experience with family-friendly intellectual properties is a plus You have senior experience leading a creative organisation, 3+ years of experience in leading design leaders as well as proven leadership and people management skills You can lead a design process from the early front-end stage and until product launch, driving a vision, setting a clear strategic direction and nurturing your team to make it happen You are able to communicate clearly across cultures and organisational layers, and you speak and write English effortlessly Bringing it to life "Use your talent to create great, recognisable product lines that appeal to kids of all ages (including the ones who have already grown up and wish they hadn’t!).
