Copenhagen Local/International Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering Ref.: MO-052209 Maersk Oil is seeking for Senior Completions Engineer to fill a position in the Subsurface Development Department in the Danish Business Unit, a Maersk-operated joint venture between Maersk, Shell, Chevron and the North Sea Fund. The DBU operates over 400 wells drilled over the last 40 years in 15 producing oil and gas fields which are under natural depletion or water drive. The DBU has an active hydrocarbon maturation portfolio focussing of greenfield developments of not yet developed tight reservoirs in the concession area. This requires advanced drilling, completion, stimulation and enhanced oil recovery techniques. Novel completion designs to lower the Unit Development Cost for these reservoirs will be the key focus for the incumbent. We Offer The Senior Completion Engineer will be located in Copenhagen, Denmark and, as a team member of Integrated Project Teams, supports field development planning work in the Initiate, Assess, Select and Define phases in close co-operation with Drilling Engineering and Well Services. The Senior Completion Engineer reports to the Well Technology Team Leader in the Subsurface Development Department. Key Responsibilities •Promote high safety standards in completion design and operations •Deliver detailed completion designs as per approved Basis of Design, conduct nodal analyses, tubing stress analyses, select materials. •Take an active lead in identifying appropriate suppliers, procurement and qualification of fit-for-purpose completion equipment. •Prepare equipment lists and identify long lead items. Coordinate with appropriate departments that long lead items are ordered to meet project schedules. •Assist in the execution of the wells, supporting the Well Services and Production Operations teams. •Report well completion activities as required. Who we are looking for •Technical professional with relevant industry experience in well completions engineering. •Solid foundation skills in a technical discipline, i.e. Mechanical Engineering or Physics. Master degree from an accredited technical university. •Ability to construct a mental image what is happening downhole, to anticipate life-cycle downhole conditions and ability design completions which represent the best compromise to maximize project value, follows projects through to execution in the field. •Experience with open-hole and cased-hole completions, completion equipment, material selection, artificial lift, nodal analysis, tubing stress analysis and well integrity. Production Technology experience, i.e. with stimulation, surveillance, interventions and well performance optimization of horizontal wells is of advantage. •Experience with project management to develop and implement new completion technology/equipment involving other disciplines and Service Companies.
