Senior Cable Monitoring Specialist for offshore wind farms

Would you like to have focus on technical aspects, stakeholder analysis and be part of building cable connections across all our offshore wind farms? 

Join us and become Senior Cable Monitoring Specialist in our High Voltage Cable Specialists department where you’ll be responsible for the technical governance and implementation of novel monitoring solutions of our 33-400kV offshore and onshore cable connections. You’ll be involved in all engineering phases, from research and development to operations and maintenance, related to our complete range of onshore and offshore cable systems for offshore wind farms across our markets. 

You’ll be part of a newly formed department of highly skilled cable experts focussing only on cable technology and onshore cable installation methods. The department is part of all offshore projects within the organisation, and you’ll therefore contribute to all projects with specialist knowledge on array and export cable monitoring solutions.

Your key tasks will be to

• develop and maintain technical requirements for cable monitoring solutions which contribute to ensuring that the organisation remains the world’s leading offshore windfarm developer. This includes ensuring proper management of stakeholders who’re affected and/or have an interest in the solutions we provide
• develop and implement proper analyses of cable data from offshore wind farms, including standardising data analysis routines
• support tender team to evaluate the technical compliance of the various suppliers in terms of solution, design and testing
• create ideas for, initiate and participate in short-term and long-term research and development projects within cable monitoring
• support the development of technical levers for optimising costs and time schedules on our projects in execution.

 

Through performing the data analyses discussed above, one of your primary responsibilities will be to assist our existing wind farms in securing high availability on all assets. Moreover, you’ll, together with the lead specialists, verify new technologies, participate in conferences, participate in Cigré working groups and other R&D activities/workshops, ensure close collaboration with universities (including defining and supervising student/PhD projects) as well as mentoring new employees.

 

Your competences include that you

• have a proactive and systematic approach to the technical tasks across the department
• have a strong technical and commercial background related to cable monitoring
• have extensive experience working for a TSO, or similar, with specific competences in monitoring of cable systems
• have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar
• speak and write English at mothertongue level.

 

You thrive in an international environment and are able to create good relationships with your stakeholders. You’re independent and a strong initiator with the ability to lead challenging issues within a complex matrix organisation.
