Can you help us evolve to the next level?

To meet the LEO Pharma R&D 2025 ambitions within digitalization, the Research Informatics & Compound Management team have embarked on a journey to ensure our researchers have the right research software tools and a solid data foundation for the future. We have initiated a complete upgrade of the data management environment supporting the Research area at LEO Pharma in close collaboration with Global IT and expert users within e.g. chemistry, biology and compound logistics. This exciting and challenging endeavor is ongoing, but we need you to be part of the team.

The role

Your overall focus will be to maintain the research data infrastructure and develop integrations between systems and platforms. In addition you will play a key role in designing and modelling the core databases in Research and you will be involved in designing and executing system upgrades and data migrations. Besides this you have to stay abreast of research specific software tools & platforms.

Your primary tasks will be to:

Maintain and further develop our primary Research databases (Oracle) and integrations between these
Develop ad-hoc applications and solutions for supporting Research data integration and analyses
Take part in the continuous dialogue with experts within chemistry, biology, bioinformatics and compound logistics to ensure their needs for research specific informatics support are met
Together with the team identify and implement new software, tools and platforms in cooperation with scientific experts
Interact with Global IT, external vendors and other stakeholders, ensuring there is a match between user needs, established data and system processes as well as R&D priorities
Contribute to a high performant and a positive working environment together with your team members

The role therefore offers the challenge of working in a diverse research environment with different data needs and a diverse team with different backgrounds and expertise.

+3 years’ experience working with pharma research
+3 years’ experience working with IT

You hold a university degree in natural sciences - preferably within Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology or Computer Science - or you have gained similar expertise from working within a Research Informatics unit in pharma.

In addition you have :

A proven track record of participation in IT projects in pharma R&D or similar environments - hence delivering within a complex research matrix organization
Experience with design and modelling of databases, preferably in Oracle
Experience in working with Microsoft and Linux environments
Experience with software development
Experience in collaboration across organizations as well as with external software vendors

On the personal level, you must thrive in an innovative and research driven environment, have good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and have a solution oriented and agile mindset. A good sense of humor is strongly preferred.

Research Informatics and Compound Management – your new team

The team you will be part of consists of 7 skilled, dedicated highly specialized experts with diverse scientific and technical background. The team is placed in the LEO Pharma headquarters in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen. Our focus is to enable the LEO research function to break new land in their Research and by that help patients with skin diseases to achieve a better life. We do so via implementation of best-in-class systems and processes across compound handling, data management, informatics solutions and software.
