Would you like to be our specialist within machine safety? A large, global organization needs your expertise to ensure our health and safety. This area receives special attention at Grundfos, and you get the opportunity to make a difference in your colleagues work life, influencing the way we work with health and safety while you strengthen your competences through interesting challenges and professional colleagues. You become part of our Safety & Health department in Bjerringbro, Denmark. We are 11 colleagues who are specialists within the different branches of health and safety and responsible for supporting all of Grundfos Denmark in legislation and challenges within the field. As such, we ensure that our system for health and safety is up-to-date and in sync with present legislation. We also carry out audits to find non- conformities and improvements in order to develop our system further. You refer to Safety & Health Manager, Jørgen Johannesen. ”You join a dynamic department with a great atmosphere. We get many requests and have to work closely together to solve the different tasks. Playing a supportive role – especially to our Production – we are good at using our different competences in the best possible way and sharing our experiences so we constantly improve,” explains Jørgen. What is the job about? As our new Safety & Health Consultant, you are responsible for preventing and following up on accidents as well as collecting data. Thus, you are primary person to assess our machines, plants, projects and work stations as well as provide support in relation to work environment, safety and health. This includes mapping noise and dealing with reduction of noise as well as being in contact with fire-fighting authorities and the Danish Working Environment Service. Another part of your job is to participate in the emergency and contingency planning at Grundfos. You make sure our emergency responses are effective and that we have the necessary procedures. Working with focus groups, you are the driver on spreading the word on health and safety by communicating new regulations, challenges and initiatives while gaining input from the group participants. “Your challenge is to find the right solutions for the different tasks and situations. And in doing so, you have to remember all the elements that make up the health and safety area to be able to give the right support. Also, being able to talk to different functions at different levels in the organization will be of great help to you,” says Jørgen. What do you need to apply? You are probably a Machine Specialist or Marine Engineer with experience in the Work Environment Act as well as the Machinery Directive. Moreover, you have a few years of experience working with health and safety in a production environment. It is a plus if you are a certified Auditor within OHSAS 18001. You speak and write English and Danish fluently. “On a personal level, you are an excellent communicator who is able to talk to and work with colleagues at different levels to support them as well as to acquire new knowledge. You are also able to prioritize your tasks to keep an overview during the day, and you work well with change, as plan and priorities often switch,” finishes Jørgen.
