Research Scientist, Protein Biochemistry & Stability, Bagsværd (1-year contract)

Are you a self-motivated and skilled Biochemist/Biophysicist who wants to be a part of developing the new enzyme solutions for applications as diverse as bioenergy, animal feed and laundry? We offer a 1 year maternity leave substitute position in Protein Biochemistry and Stability, which is a dynamic and international department with a strong focus on enzymology, biochemistry and biophysics. The department supports the whole organization with protein characterization data and in-depth knowledge to help guide candidate selection both in early and in late phase in projects.

We are looking for a strong team player who is able to independently plan and execute biochemical and biophysical analyses and who has a keen interest in enzyme function and stability. You will be part of our “late phase team” whose responsibility it is to determine which are the better enzyme candidates for scale up. In collaboration with our colleagues downstream you will also secure that we generate the data necessary for efficient process development for production.

In this position you need to:

• Hold a PhD in Biochemistry or Biophysics
• Be experience with Biochemical and Biophysical characterization of proteins using e.g. enzymatic assays and spectroscopic methods (Fluorescence, CD) and calorimetry (ITC, DSC)
• Have good fundamental understanding of protein aggregation and analysis of aggregation and oligomerization by e.g. light scattering methods (DLS/SLS/MALLS)
• Have experience with automation, statistical analysis and scripting skills are clear advantages
• Be strong communicator, open-minded with a positive attitude and good interpersonal and communication skills to achieve results together with others. Furthermore, you need to have excellent communication skills both in written and spoken form.
• We also expect you to be fluent in English as you will work closely with colleagues of many different nationalities.
