About the department Users worldwide depend on the functionality and safety of medical devices from Novo Nordisk. The Engineering Analysis team, which is part of Device R&D, supports the development of reliable devices by analysing, predicting and optimising the performance of the devices in the complete life cycle from production to patient use. Through close collaboration with device developers, we provide answers to questions such as ‘when design parameters vary in production and during use, will the device still perform as intended?’, ‘will the device break if it is dropped on the floor and, if so, where will it break?’, ‘is the mechanical design over-constrained and can it lead to jamming during the dosing process?’, and, most importantly, ‘how can we improve the mechanical design and ensure consistent performance?’ The position You will work primarily within the mechanical disciplines of tolerance analysis and kinematic analysis. You will have a key focus on supporting development engineers in identifying and analysing critical tolerance stack-ups and obtaining kinematically correct designs. You will work with experts across mechanical disciplines such as structural analysis and production towards improving the mechanical design. Your tasks will range from guidance on creating robust designs in projects in the early development phases to performing thorough analyses on late stage development projects. Furthermore you will also take part in training your colleagues within the tolerance and kinematic disciplines. You will play a key role in a dynamic team of highly competent and innovative engineers and specialists that supports the device development projects with mathematical modelling, kinematics and tolerance analyses, plus Finite Element simulations. Qualifications You hold a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or similar and may have experience working in an R&D environment. You have an innovative mind-set and have documented skills within mechanical design as well as proven strong analytical skills. You are familiar with tolerance analysis and kinematics. Experience with programming (VBA), CAD (Creo) and geometrical product specifications (ISO GPS) is an advantage but not a requirement and these are competencies we will help you acquire if necessary. It is, however, of utmost importance that you have an eye for the critical details and that you thrive with a systematic and structured approach. As a person you are proactive and possess initiative. Your open-minded approach makes it easy for you to create results via strong teamwork. Your curious mind-set makes you eager to learn and be inspired. You will also need your energy and ability to handle multiple tasks and still meet agreed milestones and deadlines. To handle complex mechanical analyses and a wide range of stakeholders it is important that you are good at communicating and that you are able to explain complex subjects in a clear and understandable way, tailored to different audiences. The corporate language is English and this position therefore requires that you are comfortable communicating in English, both orally and in writing.
