Are you an experienced category/ purchasing manager ready to take on the full supply chain responsibility? Can you motivate and drive a category management team? Vestas is looking for a Purchasing Manager to be overall responsible for development and implementation of sourcing strategies, securing budgets and selection and development of suppliers Global Sourcing Towers, Castings & Blades Blades The Blades Sourcing department is part of the overall Global Sourcing organization in Vestas. We're a newly established department with the scope to fulfill Vestas strategies for sourcing blades from Suppliers. The department is growing in scope and responsibilities and you will have dedicated colleagues placed globally. The department has a high degree of cooperation with other functions in Vestas such as Quality, Product Engineering, R&D, Finance and Planning. This cooperation is secured through the work in Category Teams. Blades Sourcing has the full supply chain responsibility for blades sourced from Suppliers. As such we cover the full supply chain from inbound logistic, production execution to outbound logistic. The department scope is very much strategic, but also deals with tactical and operational production execution and ensuring of compliance of Vestas standards for safety, quality, delivery and cost from blade Suppliers. We are responsible for developing the supply chain short, medium and long term and thereby contribute actively to improve the competitive strength of the Vestas group. Responsibilities: As a Purchasing Manager you will be overall responsible for development and implementation of Sourcing strategies, securing budgets and selection and development of Suppliers within and surrounding Europe. For the selected Suppliers you will have the overall supply chain responsibility, securing deliveries on the KPIs. You will lead of the category team in Europe, which includes a large degree of corporation with other functions such as Technology, Product Engineering, Finance, Quality and Logistics. Your key tasks will be: Develop and implement Category strategies Lead and co-ordinate the work in a cross functional Category Management Team. Responsibility and accountability for reaching KPI's and targets on safety, quality, delivery and cost Lead the search, evaluation and selection of Suppliers based on a total cost perspective Lead contract and commercial negotiations Manage and develop the relationship with key Suppliers Qualifications: To become successful in the position as Purchasing Manager you must have minimum 5 years of experience from a position as purchasing manager, category manager or similar from a large, international, industrial context. In your current/former position you have been responsible for negotiating contracts and you have gained experience with global sourcing and category management. You have or can develop a supply chain mindset beyond the Sourcing discipline. Experiences with wind turbine blades and composites are an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we expect that you hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or the like and that you are fluent in English (written and verbally).
