Are you an experienced Category/ Purchasing Manager ready to take on the full supply chain responsibility? Can you motivate and drive a category management team? Vestas is looking for a Purchasing Manager to be overall responsible for development and implementation of sourcing strategies, securing budgets and selection and development of suppliers. Global Sourcing; Covers, Plastics and Blade Components. A Purchasing Manager is needed for Plastics and Elastomers category covering the global VESTAS demand for selected material groups. The Category consists of a multiple number of items and suppliers. Responsibilities: You will work closely together with four other colleagues also working within the Plastic and Elastomer category. You will take the overall Category Responsibility for the Plastic and Elastomeric team including responsibility for development of Category Strategies and responsibility for the KPI deliveries. You will lead key initiatives in Global Sourcing focused on supply chain optimization. Build up and lead the Category teams, as well as interact with key stakeholders. You will be responsible for: Optimization of the current supply base including the cost base. Ensure best in class performance and supply chain setup. Lead and development of category team, consisting of members from R&D, Production Engineering and Quality, working across different business units within Vestas, as well as drive, develop and implement category strategies. Drive continuous improvement programs both internally and at the suppliers with special focus on total cost saving initiatives, supplier optimization and component standardization. Ensure adherence to KPI’s set by Global Sourcing in regards to safety, quality, cost, delivery, innovation and sustainability. Lead selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting of potential suppliers within the category, as well as participate in development projects. Qualifications: The successful candidate has the following qualifications: Relevant educational background with a degree in either Supply Chain Management, Finance/Accounting, Sales/Marketing or Engineering. Minimum 3- 5 years of work experience within Strategic Purchasing. Excellent communication skills including fluent English skills both orally and in writing. Must be advanced within PPT, Excel & Word. Competencies: To succeed in this role, you must: Work in a systematic and structured approach. Be able to coach and guide team members.
