About the department The Primary Packaging Development department develops and supports packaging for all Novo Nordisk’s pharmaceuticals. The packaging will reach our consumers and must live up to detailed criteria as to functionality, patient safety and other legislative requirements. We spend a great deal of time documenting our activities and are at all times ready for inspection from any health authority. The job Your objective is to prevent disruptions at Novo Nordisk production lines caused by inadequate specifications of the primary packaging components and systems. We say that our packaging designs should support robust production. Smooth processing has great benefits in terms of cost, regulatory compliance, quality and meeting the sales demand. That is why our packaging components should always withstand the processing and handling that take place at filling and packaging lines. And we need your expertise to get there. You will be part of a task force that analyses the cause of disruptions by detailed understanding of mechanics, drawings and material. You ensure that the root cause is understood and documented by means of tests, simulations and production data. The materials we work with are lacquered aluminium, glass, rubber, and plastics, and the functions are for example closures, threads, gliding contacts and a variety of safety mechanisms. Your contributions will often be within prevention of particle generation, fracture, permanent deformations and assembly errors. You plan, delegate and follow-up to ensure project progress, and you make a deep dive in detailed matters to motivate and challenge specialist units and contractors within test development, process supporters, laboratories, simulation and failure analysis. You will select and develop future inspection methods and show that the methods give the expected benefit. Based on your input the specification owner and sourcing responsible will update acceptance criteria and contracts. Finally, you will support the transfer to QC units and follow the performance data at sites for a period of time. Qualifications You hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or you have another background and experience that has enriched you to a similar level. You have worked with test method development or quality control in an environment with a Quality Management System, such as GMP or ISO9001. You are experienced within tolerance calculations, functional analysis and design of experiments. You have a strong conceptual understanding of robustness and strength-load challenges in a production environment. Any knowledge within our materials and typical design functions will be a plus.
