The Converter Control department is an essential contributor in making the current and future wind turbines more efficient and cost effective by lifting the control system embedded software to a new higher level. This is done by being responsible for the development and maintenance of converter software. We are setting the standard today and want to keep leading the way in the future. The Electrical Power Control department is part of Vestas R&D organization Technology & Service Solutions. All Vestas products are based on internally developed converters since electrical power conversion is at the core of how a wind turbine performs, operates and interacts with the electrical grid. The main role of the Converter Control Manager is to lead highly skilled software designers to keep setting the market standards of how a wind turbine converter should perform. The team consists of 20 designers and specialists split on Control and Application software development. Responsibilities: As Converter Control Manager you will report to the Director and be part of the management team within Electrical Power and Control. Your main responsibilities and tasks will be: Manage and lead SW developer team in Aarhus Develop employees through coaching and target setting Create a learning environment where knowledge sharing across projects and traits are secured Deliver converter software control and application solutions for all Vestas platforms on time and in full Maintain and improve existing products to support performance targets Develop & drive the Converter Software technology platform to support system & product road map activities Ensure adequate resources and competences are available to execute the project portfolio Ensure coordination and good working relationships with peer departments Manage external stakeholders i.e. universities, customers and consultant agencies through specifications and project follow up Handle managerial tasks e.g. vacation planning, project follow ups, time registration, employee one-to-ones, etc. Qualifications: Your qualifications include: Minimum of 2 years management/project management experience from a large organization A bachelor/master in relevant area ex. Computer science, electronics, automation/control Minimum of 5 years of working experience as a software developer Experienced in management of SW development teams Experienced in management of embedded SW projects Strong leadership and communication skills and capable of acting as a motivator through an open dialogue Experienced in SCRUM project execution.
