Nel Hydrogen is a frontrunner when it comes to the development of hydrogen fuel stations used for the refueling of hydrogen vehicles. The market for hydrogen stations will maintain its growth in the coming years, as large-scale production of hydrogen cars busses and trucks will be launched in 2018 – 2020.
Therefore Nel Hydrogen is in the process of developing the next generation of hydrogen fuel stations, which are to be produced in a serial production, which results in busyness throughout the organization and therefore we are now searching for an Installation and Commissioning Engineer for the Siting and Service Department.
About the Siting and Service Department and the position
As an Installation and Commissioning Engineer in NEL Hydrogen – Siting and Service Department, you will be responsible for installation and commissioning of new Hydrogen Refueling Stations. For installation of new products or special projects, you will be onsite and manage the different internal and external parties. Your main focus is to secure that installation and commissioning of new stations meet the NEL safety, time and cost targets. You will work closely together with Project Managers, Project Engineers and Service Managers which will serve you the required resources. You will have close contact with the R&D department, to receive information related to installation and commissioning of new products or special projects. You will also be responsible for education and training of installation technicians and commissioning technicians based on your field experience. You will report directly to the Project Engineering Team Lead and your place of work, when you’re not in the field will be the company facility in Herning. Around 120 travelling days per year must be expected. Main areas for installations and commissioning is Europe, the US and Asia.
Your tasks will include:
• Ensuring safety during installation and commissioning
• Detailed planning of installations and commissioning activities based on the general project plans from Project Management
• Develop and maintain installation and commissioning documentation in adjustment with Project Engineering and Document Management
• Supervise first installations and commissioning of new products or in new markets
• Manage and educate lead installation technicians to conduct standard installations on their own
• Support commissioning troubleshooting on known products
• Participate and support onsite approvals with authorities or 3rd party inspectors
• Support Project Management during the Site Acceptance Test with the customer
• Managing tool and material preparation of installation and commissioning actions
• Coordination of subcontractors on site, which are hired in by Project Management
• Education and training of lead installation technicians and commissioning technicians
• Education and training of station operators
• Feedback to Product Development to improve product and process quality
• Working alongside other subcontractors onsite, especially regarding safety topics
About you
You possess a relevant educational background and technical experience. You have wide technical experience from a theoretical as well as a practical perspective. You have a strong technical- and business-orientated mindset, are curious, and can quickly understand complex technical systems to find organizational and commercially good solutions. You are structured and innovative, giving you the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. You are good at working independently and in teams, and are highly skilled in both written and spoken English. You’re good in communication with other technical staff, internal as well as external.
Requirements
• Relevant education as marine engineer, mechanical engineer or similar
• General understanding of work safety procedures and experience in risk evaluation
• General understanding of enterprise resource planning and document management systems
• Experience with installation and commissioning of complex technical equipment
• Understanding of customer requirements and skilled in customer communication
• Experience in both independent and team work, plus high flexibility
• “Hands-on” mentality
• Experience working in or with international organizations
• Experience working within established procedures, codes and standards
• Communicate fluently in both written and spoken English
• Open-minded to new IT solutions, e.g., augmented reality
It will be beneficial if you have
• Experience training people on new procedures and instructions
• Fluent or elementary proficiency in a second language like German
