Do you have experience qualifying products to automotive usage or alike? Then here is your opportunity to take ownership for and become an expert within our Sensor product portfolio. Further, you will have the opportunity to work across several functions and accordingly build a broad, global network within Danfoss Power Solutions. Be part of an ambitious R&D function You will be part of team consisting of 5 in the R&D department working within our Work Functions division. A continuously growing focus area in the department will be to specialize in Safety Critical Mechatronic actuators and sensors used for Steer-By-Wire systems in off road vehicles. This will provide several exciting technical challenges in the years to come. The position is based in Nordborg, Denmark. However, you will travel approximately 10 days a year. End-to-end product responsibility As Design Engineer you will be responsible for our Sensor product portfolio, and your role will mainly be to qualify products for production. As such, you will establish yourself as the expert on your portfolio, and become a sparring partner to the organization regarding electronics, mechanics and software in the design solutions. In doing so, you have daily correspondence with our partners, and you work closely with our electrohydraulic experts on steering systems and motor sensors. Further, you coordinate tasks with Development, Procurement, Quality, Sales and Marketing. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be to: • design our products based on inputs from our sales organization’s expectations to functionality, performance and quality • lead the activities towards and communication with our product supplier • handle the technical part of quality matters affecting customers and/or production • ensure compliance with stringent automotive environmental test requirements • review technical solutions and participate in development of new products Solid electronic understanding and +5 years’ experience • You have an electro or mechatronics engineering degree, or alternatively you are a highly experienced technician • You need to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience • Experience with qualifying a product to automotive usage or similar, is a prerequisite • Your technical English is at a high level, verbally and in writing You have the motivation and eagerness to learn, to quickly gain an in-depth product knowledge. With your extremely high sense of quality, you can communicate quality expectations to suppliers. Finally, you focus on cost-optimization in the design solutions, just as you have the ability to establish relations across functions and cultures.
