Then you may be our next highly valued Data Scientist.

About the department
At Novo Nordisk you will work in the Modelling & Predictive Technologies Department, a part of Global Research Technologies. We are 12 highly engaged scientists and engineers that apply both physics based and data driven modelling to projects in the Novo Nordisk research pipeline. We collaborate closely with research scientists to improve active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and drug product (DP) designs of our peptides and proteins. We apply explorative data analysis and machine learning to data generated across the organisation, and we generate predictive models to support prescriptive decision making in the projects. We have access to advanced state-of-the-art protein modelling software and are using programming languages, such as python, R and MatLab based tools for data analysis and building prediction models.

The position
We offer an exciting and challenging job, where you will share and discuss computational models with highly experienced, qualified and motivated scientists in multidisciplinary research teams. The project teams work in a flexible, collaborative and cross-functional setting with very ambitious scientific goals. Your responsibility will be to expand our data science platform with new prediction models by employing in-house data generated within the protein engineering area. We expect you to develop better data wrangling and reconstruction algorithms and to implement state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms. An important part of the job is also to engage with stakeholders across the international organisation.

Qualifications
You hold a PhD within a discipline with strong modelling and computational components, such as Computer Science, Engineering or Computational Physics/Chemistry, with more than 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry/biotech experience or academic group leadership. You have established an excellent track record and broad knowledge within applying data science to challenging life-scientific problems. In addition, experience within programming, statistical analysis, machine learning and cloud computing is a must.

As a person you use your curiosity to secure that key challenges are identified. Your commitment and scientific insights are used to address the core issues and your communication skills enable you to present the results and thereby getting strong impact on project progress. You can collaborate well with people at all levels.

Furthermore, you show a positive attitude towards challenges and thrive in an informal working environment. You take the initiative for driving your projects and you are able to stay on top of things in a dynamic working environment.
