We are now seeking a Data Scientist to join us in Data & Analytics, to support our product development teams with clear and insightful analysis of the big data at hand, and to build and implement data-driven models within both the consumer- and business-facing parts of our product.
The Role
As a Data Scientist in our Product Development area you will work closely with our product and software engineering teams to enable the continued development of a data-driven, insightful, review platform. You will help us to understand and analyse data relating to product contexts, and you will build and implement data-driven product features. You will use your analysis, text mining, and modelling skills to drive new knowledge and help identify new areas for development. You will be part of a specialised team that expects you to contribute with challenging and great ideas about how we can improve and extend our data-driven products and product features, whilst offering you the opportunity to work with leading technologies including TensorFlow, SageMaker and Google BigQuery.
This role will allow you to utilize our data and your knowledge in endless ways - it all depends on your creativity and innovation!
About You
- Minimum BA/BSc degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or related quantitative degree (MSc/PhD preferred)
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar job role, preferably in the technology sector
- Excellent at building models from data: you have extensive experience with analytical and quantitative problem solving
- Experience of working with large datasets, and demonstrated knowledge of aggregating, cleaning, combining and analysing data, and of going from concept to feature
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of machine learning techniques - including NLP
- Experience using Python and/or R & SQL for data manipulation, modelling and scripting
- Experienced in working with a mix of data formats and structures
- Strong skills in data visualization
- Great communicator - both with engineering/technical colleagues and with business stakeholders
- The ability to work independently/to be able to drive forward ideas to outcomes
