Transport & Handling is a sub-department withinTechnology & Service Solutions (TSS), Vestas R&D organization. Thedepartment is accountable for developing and maintaining standard workprocesses and tools for Transport, Installation and Maintenance of windturbines. Responsibilities: Transport & Handling Processes isa part of Transport & Handling. The team is overall responsible forstandard work processes within Transport, Installation and Maintenance of windturbines. In terms of cranes the responsibilities are: •Provide crane data in an operational & technicalfocused crane catalogue •Define and describe optimized on site crane processes •Provide a catalogue of possible future crane concepts •Recommend crane solutions for installation & repairsolutions •Define requirements to processes, tools and turbine designbased on crane data •Crane specialist support to our operationalbusiness Qualifications: As Crane Specialist you will be our internal crane expert inVestas. By use of your operational knowledge you will collect crane data in acatalogue which is used for sourcing, design and for development of workprocesses. Overall you will ensure that crane recommendations are based on atechnically and commercially balanced view, and you will keep up to date withthe market so you are able to recommend future solutions. You will giveimportant input to development of transport, installation and maintenance processesand descriptions of onsite crane processes will be a core deliverable for you. Your main responsibilities will be: •Build and maintain a central technical crane data catalogue •Define requirements seen from a crane perspective to toolsand turbine design •Provide support and recommendation to Vestas cranestrategies •Provide crane expert business support to the organization Your primary day to day tasks will be to: •Collect, analyze and publish crane data in the cranecatalogue •Define and optimize onsite crane processes •Meet suppliers to evaluate products and offerings •Investigate market and recommend future crane concepts andsolutions •Participate in and give input to development of transport,installation and maintenance work processes •Participate in internal crane forum meetings Competencies: •At least 5 years of proven experience within operationalwork with cranes •Mechanical or electrical engineering or similar •Training and experience as wind turbine technician is anadvantage •Deep knowledge about wind turbine installation and componentreplacement •Deep knowledge about crane technologies and concepts •Strong analytical skills both technical and commercial •Good coaching skills and ability to lead others •Experience with LEAN or Six Sigma •Good general IT skills •Experience with project management or planning •Good communication skills in English, both written andverbal •Proven ability to work independently and in teams, underpressure •Capable of cooperating with colleagues in a professionaland positive manner What we offer: We offer you an exciting and challenging job in a dynamic work environment.
