Vestas is continuously striving to be on the forefront of ground breaking technology within strategic areas that supports our overall strategy of being the Global Leader in Sustainable Energy Solutions. A central part of this lies with our five Technology Clusters in Ideation and Partnering who have three main areas of focus;

1. Technology scouting to identify status and development of new technologies and looking out for potential disrupters and enablers from which they maintain the Vestas Technology Radar and communicating this to the rest of the organization to inspire innovative development
2. Incubating early stage projects through agile project development that could lead to new technology projects enabling LCoE (Levelized Cost of Energy) reduction in wind energy, and 3) Develop new opportunities next to the core business that in the long run can be new sources of revenue.

Responsibilities

As a Cluster Technology Specialist for Digitalization and Sensing, you will - together with the Cluster team - be responsible for developing and building new digital solutions within the space of sustainable energy solutions.

You will be a project member in a small team which in itself acts as a little start-up. Your role in this will be as the designer who together with the team, external consultants and partners will develop concrete offerings.

We expect that you will have good programming skills and maybe even have experience with app development for mobile devices. You value agile development and acknowledge that no one solution or direction is carved in stone.

Preferably you have either some or in-depth knowledge on artificial intelligence (AI) and its implementation and understand AI's potential and limitation.

In short:

• Responsible for developing digital solutions in a team that operates as a little startup company.
• Responsible for developing new ideas that could be a new digital offering in Vestas
• Assist the Cluster Lead in generating and maintaining the Vestas perspective on digital technologies
• Competent in collaborating and liaising with stakeholders in- and externally .

Qualifications

We expect you to have a Master degree within computer science or equivalent or similar and a minimum three years of relevant experience either from the industry or from academia. You can document that you have developed solutions either as part of a bigger system or as standalone applications.

A large network within digital and sensing community would be an advantage.

You should first and foremost be motivated by the solving technical challenges by building digital solutions. You have an innovative mind and do not get lost in details and see opportunities and thrive in a flexible atmosphere where not all process and methodologies are carved in stone, but where we adapt to make things happen. You are capable of seeing the bigger picture, and eager to drive things forward.

You enjoy working in a team and share your thoughts and ideas.
