About this job We are looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer/Linux System Administrator to maintain our dev-test-release cycle using a fully automated continuous delivery pipeline in AWS and handle operational incidents. The position will be part of a team that is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our AWS infrastructure. Responsibilities • Support developers in software packaging (usually Debian packages) • Develop and maintain internal software to deliver and update • issuu.com (Changelog system, Jenkins, Debian repositories, proxies, build systems) • Configuration management (using puppet and custom scripts) • Resource management (AWS instances, SSL certificates, access management) • Monitoring and on-call duties (using Nagios) • Network setup and management (VPN, EC2) Requirements • Fundamental knowledge of servers/computers hardware, networks and software. • 1-3 years of relevant work experience, including with Linux (Ubuntu) systems requiring use of languages like Python, and shell script. • Experience in debian packaging tools. • Experience building and maintaining an AWS stack, including (but not limited to) Route53, EC2, VPC, S3, and IAM. • Experience administering distributed UNIX-style systems in AWS. • Experience Installing, configuring, updating, and troubleshooting services like Web Servers (NodeJs, Nginx), Proxies (HaProxy), RDBMSs (Postgres, MySQL), and NoSQL DBs (MongoDB, Redis), Message brokers (RabbitMQ). • Experience building or working with continuous delivery and deployment pipelines, automated build systems (Jenkins), and automated provisioning system (Puppet). • Able to build, test, maintain and tune systems in high availability clusters. • Able to collaborate in a DevOps environment where you will work closely with software developers, QA, support and product owners/managers. • Able to be part of a roster for handling operational incidents after normal work hours. • Excellent problem solving skills with a desire to take on responsibility. • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to nontechnical & technical audiences. Desired • Virtualization experience. • Knowledge of networking and routing. • Knowledge of Javascript, Ruby. • Knowledge of monitoring systems (Nagios).
