We Offer An exciting position as Assistant Rig Manager where you will work in the heart of the business of Maersk Drilling. Your main responsibility will be to assist the Rig Manager in supervising the activities related to the operations of this new drill ship. You will therefore be directly involved in the front line business of running a sophisticated drilling unit together with a professional offshore team as well as your day- to-day colleagues in the onshore Rig Team. You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the successful performance of the unit, and strengthen our position as leading player in the offshore drilling industry. The Assistant Rig Manager will be based in either Denmark or Lyngby until the rig has been delivered. The position will then be on rotation but you should be prepared to work anywhere in the world. Key Responsibilities Your key responsibilities will include: Act as deputy to the Rig Manager in all aspects of the general management of a ultra deepwater drillship. You will take part in building a successful relationship with client, as well as be in close cooperation with other functions in the rig team, including Technical Superintendent, Drilling Superintendent, QMHSE, finance and HR. You will monitor and follow up on the performance of the drilling unit, including financial performance, HSE goals and programs, equipment supply chain and the competencies of our employees working offshore. You will have a key role in monitoring and driving performance on the drilling unit. You will identify and realize the business potential in the contract and have a key role in ensuring these potentials are being successfully managed. Who we are looking for You are well-versed in the offshore industry and have a good notion of life on a drilling rig – preferably through working in an offshore position (in any onboard department) for a minimum of 2 years. Alternatively you have completed the Maersk Drilling Rig Manager Trainee programme or equivalent. As you will be operating in a truly international environment, you must be fluent in English. Moreover, you are a good communicator with proven relation-building skills and you thrive in a job where you may encounter changing priorities. You are a dynamic problem solver and are able to analyze complex problems and come up with creative solutions. You constantly strive for delivering high quality operation. You are computer literate and have experience with business administration, including a good knowledge of mathematics. You are also conversant in safety, quality and environmental management principles within an offshore environment.
