Maersk Oil is looking for a Petroleum Engineer with 2 to 5 years experience to work for the Subsurface Development department based in our Esbjerg Offices in Denmark. The Petroleum Engineer will be a member of the Well Optimisation team, within Well and Reservoir Management. The Well Optimisation team constitutes the front line of Well and Reservoir Management, managing the wells on a daily basis to maximise production, and providing quality well data to the department. The asset well optimisation engineer will sit on the asset floor continuously interacting with production operations, and other support functions such as the asset process engineer. We Offer The position is highly suited to an energetic engineer who wishes to gain invaluable experience working at the sharp end of well and reservoir management. It offers a unique opportunity to gain field experience and understand firsthand how offshore oil fields are managed. Responsibilities The Asset Well Optimisation Engineer will: Perform daily well surveillance using real time data visualisation tools and nodal analysis (Prosper) including processing and validation of production well tests Be the first point of contact for well related issues identified by others in the asset Actively identify, justify and initiate production optimisation activities and interventions Troubleshoot and optimise gas-lifted wells The successful candidate will thrive in the zone between subsurface and facilities, enjoying the high degree of liaison and cooperation with Production Operations, Well Services and the Subsurface Teams, while being provided with strong functional support from an extended team of optimisation engineers. Who we are looking for The successful candidate holds a relevant engineering degree and is characterised by: Being self-motivated and effective with a strong analytical mindset The ability and drive to identify, justify and document technically and economically optimal solutions The willingness to handle multiple issues in short timeframes, and learn quickly on the job Previous field experience, experience with gaslifted wells and knowledge of well modelling using Prosper is an advantage, but is not essential as these can be taught. Candidates with a minimum of 2 years industry experience, some of which should be in a subsurface engineering role, and excellent communication skills in verbal and written English will be considered for the position.
