About the department

We are approximately 140 employees in Corporate Procurement Denmark and together with the global organisation, we manage the total external spend of DKK 28 billion.

 

We do this by building strategies and executing improvement projects to optimise the global spend related to, e.g. R&D activities, marketing services, travel, professional advisory services and IT. To do so we collaborate with senior stakeholders at Senior Vice President level and their teams across the organisation.

 

Corporate Procurement is reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Novo Nordisk. We work fact-based and take active leadership for the initiatives we are involved in. The position

As a Senior Category Manager in Corporate Procurement, you will be leading and supporting sourcing and business development projects within indirect categories. You will work with development and implementation of sourcing/category strategies across the value chain and conduct relevant change management activities to ensure that your results are anchored in the organisation.

 

You will work closely together with your colleagues and key stakeholders on identifying sourcing opportunities in our global organisation as well as drive negotiation and relationship management with our suppliers. You will be subjected to manage large supplier contract negotiations in collaboration with R&D stakeholders at all levels.

 

Furthermore, you will be exposed to different organisational areas throughout R&D and beyond, and the job offers frequent interactions as well as presentations to senior management. You will work in a high pace environment and be part of a dynamic and highly collaborative team.

 

Since the maturity level of the team has increased over the last years, we expect you to add additionally value by identifying areas of improvement by building business cases and rethinking the status quo. We are ambitious and constantly strive for excellence so we expect you to take a proactive role in the continuous development of the department and our team.

 

Qualifications

You have a Master's Degree in e.g. Business Administration, Chemistry, Engineering, Economics, Law, Supply Chain Management or similar with great results. We imagine that you have minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience from working with e.g. project management, sourcing, or business development within procurement in an international organisation or a consulting company.

 

To succeed in this role, you bring a strategic and innovative mind-set, a strong sourcing toolbox as well as excellent execution and negotiation skills. You use data to drive evidence-based decision making, but you are also able to take a step back and identify business opportunities and challenge status quo.

 

It is important that you take leadership naturally and have high professional expectations for you and your colleagues. You communicate and sell your ideas effectively and have the ability to work with various stakeholders, colleagues and suppliers.

 

Finally, you have excellent communication and presentation skills and work fluently in English.
